    A NEW GENERAL REPRESENTATION

A new development for the Tersycordes Quartet: as from November 2011, the OZ Artists Management agency, based in Paris, is taking over the Quartet’s general representation.

The Quartet has already been working with OZ Artists Management since early in 2011, developing its career in France, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia. As from November 2011, this dynamic agency, which includes on its books the composer Kaija Saariaho and pianists Barry Douglas, David Greilsammer and Andrew von Oeyen, among others, is taking over the Quartet’s general representation.

    THE TERPSYCORDES IN CHINA

Discovering China and Chinese audiences – a new experience for the Terpsycordes Quartet! The tour took place from 15 to 26 March 2012, comprising concerts in 4 major cities (Peking, Dalian, Shanghai and Canton), as well as a private event at the invitation of the Swiss Embassy in Peking.

Venues included the prestigious National Centre for the Performing Arts in Peking, a magnificent building designed by the French architect, Paul Andreu, poised like a drop of water on an artificial lake in the very heart of the city.
Many young people were among the audiences, which listened intently and showed warm appreciation of the performances of the Quartet. These included works by Mozart and Schubert, as well a piece by Jean-Luc Darbellay, a contemporary Swiss composer. In return for this appreciation, the musicians played as an encore an arrangement of a popular Chinese song, each time greeted with tumultuous applause!
In all, the tour proved positive and enriching for the musicians, both as a professional and personal experience – leaving them with the hope of returning one day.
The Terpsycordes Quartet thanks Swiss Re and Pro Helvetia for their support.
